Hrumpt

I chased a dude all week last week re something from work. He avoids me all week, then finally sends me an email at 5:40pm Friday, which I reply to on Saturday.

Then this morning, he replies to my email and CCs my boss saying "because I didn't hear back from you last week... There will now be further delays." You didn't hear back from me last week because you didn't email me until you were walking out of the office on Friday.

And now he is implying to my boss that I am the one being slack in replying and causing delays.

Sneaky.

  1. Fight fire with fire - this is how I would respond.

"Hi Dude who incorrectly assessed me as being easy to walk all over,

Did you get my email on Saturday X:XX? I replied to the email you sent on Friday at 5:40 pm, but it sounds like you didn't get my response...

I'm worried that my emails might be going to your junk mailbox - have you got your mail set to high security levels and forgotten to put my address into your address book? That can cause mail to be sent to 'junk'.

I'm just a bit confused because your latest email says you didn't hear back from me 'last week', and I did reply to you...

Let me know if you need any help re: the email settings. I'm not an expert, but I know they can cause problems with delivery."

I wouldn't cc: your boss, because your boss doesn't care.

And, yes, I would agree if you were to reply that this seems too passive aggressive but I WILL NOT put up with having stuff made up about me in the workplace. He started it. Oooh, passive aggressive AND childish, all at once. It must be a great day for hormones over here.
