Finished work

I finished work a couple of weeks ago.  Yet in spite of having MORE time, I have been really slack with updating the blog.  Mostly I think because I have been enjoying the break from sitting in front of the computer.

That, and now that I don't need to procrastinate, I have been finding other things to fill my time.

So, what have I been up to?

I have been enjoying spending time just connecting with Bear, and catching up with family and friends.

Bear and I went and spent 5 days at Mum and Dad's motel.  It was really lovely.  It was lovely to spend some quality time with Mum and Dad.

It also gave Mr a chance to get some paint stripping done.  We (ie he) are stripping the paint out of Bear's room in preparation for painting (I will do, if the prep is done before I am too round to paint).  It is a slow... painfully slow... process, which has taken months of weekend sessions of Mr and a heat gun.  I finally convinced him to buy a second heat gun and mask and get his Dad to help, so the last couple of weekends have seen progress step up a bit.

So, on the weekend, Bear and I caught a citycat into the city and spent the day with Mr's mum, while Mr's dad came and spent the day stripping paint, then came in for dinner and picked us up.  Bear was a little bit frightened of being on the citycat, telling me it was fun, but "I a bit scaredy Mama".

Another day, Bear and I spent the morning walking from home down to the markets held at a local marina (roughly 5 km walk).  We walked along the esplanade to get there, doing a "park-crawl" along the way.  We ran into one of my uncles, a family from mothers' group, another family from ABA, and then walked through the markets, where Bear accosted a man with a spinning wheel (spinning alpaca wool) and talked his ear off.  I have really been enjoying getting out and going for walks, but my body is starting to feel it.  Mostly in my pelvis.  Sometimes it feels like the baby is so low, it is going to fall out of me.  I really didn't feel like this with Bear until the last week or two, so it is definitely starting earlier this time around.  Our walk was only a couple of weeks ago, but then on the weekend, we went to the markets as a family, and I spent the whole time feeling like I needed to sit down.  I have been getting really strong Braxton Hicks, and walking seems to make them worse.
