I was just watching "One Born Every Minute" (a show about childbirth) and it reminded me of something funny that happened when I went to the hospital with migraines. Mr and Bear came with me. We had to wake Bear as it was nearly midnight.
When we were at the hospital, they took me into the assessment room which is near the birthing suites. We could hear a woman labouring. I could see Bear listening, trying to make sense of what he was hearing.
At one point, Bear turned to the midwife who was trying to get blood from me, and said, "Listen, hear that? That's a lion? Roar!"
The midwife laughed, and said, "No, not a lion."
Bear looked confused. "A dog?"
She laughed again. "No."
He tried again, "Maybe a hy-nena?"
More laughing.
At this point, Mr intervened, and said, "That's the sound of a little person coming into the world."
"Oh, a person in the world." Replied Bear, as if it had been so obvious all along.
